I have the pleasure of being involved with the annual meeting for the Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia. This year, the event is being held in Cardiff at the recently renovated (and mighty impressive) Exchange Hotel. My contribution is the second day's agenda, in which you can see me babble on about Interoperabble (in some vain attempt to create a hashtag of my very own...).
I will be introducing a great range of speakers who will describe a coal face approach to the intelligent use of clinical data. For more info on the speakers check out the Scientific Programme here. Don't worry that there is 'anaesthesia' in the title...there will be much to be gleaned from an overview of the way NHS Wales Informatics Service gets down to business, safety standards with IT systems, requirements analysis, the role of health informaticians, pre-operative assessment, peri-operative care, going paperless in theatres and e-prescribing.
If you would like to come, the first person that provides a semi-reasonable definition of what 'interoperabble' means get a free two-day ticket to the event. Gratis. Responses either in the comments on via my Twitter are all accepted.
SCATA 2018 runs from May 14-15th.
Please note: Free ticket only with this offer. No train fares, Uber, plane tickets or magic carpet rentals refunded.
